ADA/Inclusion Policy/Special Needs Information

The Plainfield Park District will make reasonable accommodations to facilitate participation in or attendance at Park District programs and activities for those with disabilities. The Park District urges those interested in such opportunities to contact the Park District Recreation/Administration Center at (815) 436-8812 in advance to discuss potential accommodations.

In addition, the Plainfield Park District has entered into an agreement with the Joliet Bolingbrook Special Recreation Association (JBSRA) to offer recreation programs to residents with special needs. Park District residents will be able to participate in JBSRA programs at the resident rate. JBSRA will offer programs at Plainfield locations and will offer transportation to select programs taking place in Bolingbrook. The Park District’s reimbursement policy for special needs programs was discontinued on July 1, 2005.

JBSRA Needs Assessment Survey

JBSRA, serving Bolingbrook and Plainfield residents, is conducting a Needs Assessment Survey to establish priorities for the future direction of the association. The survey will be an important aspect in decision-making about current and future service delivery and program offerings, helping to ensure they are aligned with customer needs. JBSRA Jaguars Basketball Team Wins Special Olympics State Title

The Joliet-Bolingbrook Special Recreation Association Jaguars basketball team had a successful road trip to the Special Olympics State Tournament in Bloomington-Normal, IL, capping their run with a state title.

The weekend kicked off with a Jaguars team member in the spotlight as Mark Oftedahl sang the national anthem for the Opening Ceremonies.

JBSRA's squad defeated the Helping Hands Wolves by a 52-44 count on Saturday, March 13, and clinched the gold with a 49-31 rout of the Jacksonville Red Storm on Sunday, March 14.

In addition to the competitive hardware, JBSRA's Maurice Booker and Michael Ciskowski were awarded with the Ron Kinsley Spirit Award. This award is determined by officials and is given to athletes who show exceptional spirit and camaraderie throughout the game.

On the junior level, the Jaguars split a pair of games Saturday and earned Silver Medal honors. Jacob Bilek was awarded with the Ron Kinsley Spirit Award.
